The client asked for a characterization of herself in an anime style. She provided pictures of herself as well as her uniform. At first I drew her to understand her features before translating them to a character. I thought the posing needed to reflect her business and I drew a platter in her hands. There were multiple attempts to draw the cake before the client decided on a fraisier. I tried different ways of holding the platter (showing the character's hand / not showing) but decided on this pose making the cake more appealing. The colour palette had to attract the eyes so the colours are pretty vivid. I gave texture to the uniform, the hat and the cake. Finally, I added lighting on the platter, hair, uniform and face to make it pop off. The circle around balanced the figure and the client appreciated the idea and decided on a light green.
